Hello there! I am a recent Master’s graduate in Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of Applied Sciences, Upper Austria. Also called a “Fachhochschule” in German, the focus of such universities is on practice oriented education, preparing one for life in industry. I call Mumbai, India as my home and possess an Engineering background from there. In addition, I have spent a few years exploring the vastness of the USA alongside some full-time work experience and studies.

I am thankful to have met people from different parts of the world during my stay in Austria. A lot of my interactions took place in Wels itself, which despite only 60,000 inhabitants, still boasts a sizeable international population. This has helped me open my mind for new experiences and with the world’s shift to clean energy, it has never been more important to build intercultural skills that could help establish global relations.

Currently, I am working in a project engineering role at a renewable energy developer in Austria. My wish is to continue growing in this role, build strong relations with my colleagues and in doing so make a positive contribution to our planet.

In my free time, I enjoy unwinding by cooking a delicious Indian meal, playing indoor football, exploring music through karaoke, spending time in nature and learning the basics of swimming. In the future, I also wish to explore different parts of the world for the unique cultures.

My blog focuses on some of my professional learnings and personal interests covering cooking and self-growth. Please feel free to contact me for further information 🙂 Looking forward to the exchange!

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at University of Florida, Gainesville, USA (Aug 2016 – May 2018)

The University of Florida is a research University located in northern Florida. As a Master’s student, I got the opportunity to specialise in the field of Thermal Science and acquire valuable working experience at the Renewable Energy Laboratory on campus.

Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering at NMIMS, Mumbai, India (Jul 2012 – May 2016)

The beginning of my engineering journey included diverse subjects in Mechanical Engineering.

Junior Project Engineer at Swimsol GmbH, Vienna, Austria (Feb 2023- present)

Swimsol GmbH is a Vienna based renewable energy developer focusing on island based renewable energy systems. My role as a Junior Project Engineer involves supporting customers at the technical sales stage and the planning of large scale PV projects in the Maldives.

Working student at CLEEN Energy AG, Stadt Haag, Austria (Jun 2022 – Oct 2022)

CLEEN Energy AG specialises in renewable energy solutions for the European market; in particular Austria. As a Working Student I was tasked with supporting my colleagues with various stages in a PV project. I also got the opportunity to travel to the customer site and assess their roof systems.

Mechanical Engineer at WELL BILT Industries, Ocala, Florida USA (Jun 2018 – Sep 2019)

WELL BILT Industries is a leading company in the field of aviation hangar door systems. During my role, I working as a liaison between the design and manufacturing team by creating drawings, assessing bill of materials and supporting the sales process.

PV project development – FH Upper Austria (Mar 2022 – Jun 2022)

This is an interesting project in collaboration with 4 of my study colleagues. We are working towards developing a large scale solar PV plant around Dnipro city, Ukraine. The first step involves selection of a suitable site for a 30 MW project based on legal, demographical, topographical and electrical aspects. Finding a location in proximity to a power substation has been our focus.

Other aspects are solar potential studies with PVSyst, selecting a suitable PV technology and choosing mounting systems. The end goal is to document a detailed energy assessment and gain a good understanding of the economics and risks involved.

PV self-consumption – FH Upper Austria (Mar 2022 – May 2022)

As a team of 6 students our goal is to provide an economical heating solution for a house in Agua Amarga, Almería, Spain. A PV system is to be installed on the roof which will provide electricity for self-consumption. Components such as inverters and batteries are vital. While I will be gaining a holistic understanding of the project, my main focus is conducting a detailed climatic analysis.

As the building has a poor envelope our target is to make use of electric wall heating mats and a hot water tank. The end goal is to conduct a detailed energy simulation on the IDA ICE software and find an optimized thermal environment.
